Several more positive cases of the coronavirus in San Diego were announced by local officials on Saturday.
They include a second Marine at MCAS Miramar, a sailor at Naval Base San Diego, two 2 workers at U-C San Diego Health, and a Chula Vista City Council member.

Padilla says his symptoms arrived quickly and included fever, body aches, headaches and chills. Despite the symptoms, Padilla says he is in good condition and in accordance with San Diego County health recommendations will self-isolate and work from home.
Capt. Matthew Gregory at the Miramar Marine base says the patient was isolated and receiving medical support aboard the base. "The air station is currently conducting a thorough contact investigation to determine who may have had contact with the Marine and notify them of the situation," officials said.
The identity of the Marine is being withheld due to privacy restrictions, but Gregory said the Marine resides on base and was not on leave.
"The Marine self-reported to the Miramar medical clinic with symptoms and was ultimately transferred to Naval Medical Center San Diego for testing," said Gregory.
The news comes after it was reported Thursday that a Marine stationed at MCAS Miramar had tested presumptive positive for coronavirus after returning from leave in Washington state. The patient was visiting family which is where officials believe he contracted the virus, officials on base familiar with the matter told 10News. Both cases are currently in isolation and being quarantined in an empty barracks that was designated to treat potential cases of Covid-19, according to Gregory who described both as doing well.
MCAS Miramar is one of four bases outside of California used as quarantine sites for individuals returning from overseas, including U.S. citizens that were evacuated from Wuhan last month and passengers aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship that was brought to Oakland last week. The quarantined passengers are being treated by staff with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Neither of the two infected Marines had any contact with the cruise ship passengers, according to Gregory.
Sailor at Naval Base Tests Positive
Navy officials announced on Saturday that a sailor from Naval Base San Diego has tested presumptive positive for the coronavirus, making it possibly the first positive coronavirus case of a sailor in California. The sailor is quarantined at home and the test result is pending confirmation by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Navy said the sailor had close contact with certain people, and they have been notified and are in home isolation.
Two U-C San Diego Health Workers Test Positive
Two UC San Diego Health workers have tested positive for COVID-19, officials with the medical system announced Saturday.
UCSD Health said in a statement that the workers "are recuperating at home and doing well," officials said. "Both infected health workers sought medical assessment after exhibiting key respiratory symptoms, and were tested," according to UCSD Health.
University officials cite "exposure and infection in the community" as reasons for the workers contracting the virus, rather than from travel or a patient.
"UC San Diego Health has launched an extensive effort to identify any patients or health system colleagues who may have been in recent contact with either of the two health workers," officials said.
A public information official with UCSD Health said they are not disclosing which locations or duties the infected workers are assigned to..
