San Diego County health officials Saturday thanked residents for following the stay at home and social distancing orders that have helped in efforts to flatten the rate of cases in the county.
But Supervisor Nathan Fletcher said we must stay the course and everyone should continue to follow the public health orders, saying that if we don't, we will have lost the progress we have made in beginning to slow the rate of cases
Health officials at Saturday's daily briefing reported 68 new positive cases and one additional death from coronavirus bringing the total in the county to 45 since the pandemic began. The latest person to die was a man in his early 80;s.
The total number of positive cases of coronavirus are now at 1,761. Officials say there have been 24,430 COVID-19 tests done in the county so far.
County Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten again urged residents to use facial coverings when outside in public, saying, "When you leave your place, cover your face."
