57 New Coronavirus Cases in San Diego County; Only 1 New Death Reported

San Diego County health officials say there has been another death in the county bringing the total to 72 for the county.

There were 57 new cases of covid-19 reported in the last 24 hours with a total now of 2,325 positive cases in the county. Statewide there were 87 new deaths in California over the last day.

Supervisor Greg Cox says the worst is behind us and discussions are now underway about how to ease stay at home restrictions and allow beaches, parks and non essential businesses to open but county health officials saying we have not yet met the White House guidelines for being being able to do so yet.

Supervisor Nathan Fletcher said this month remains a critical time and the public needs to keep following the stay at home and physical distancing and face covering advisories as we near the first of May.
