Governor Gavin Newsom says California's stay at home order is being revised and will allow a majority of counties to begin opening up more businesses.
The Governor estimates that approximately 53 of the 58 counties in the state would be able to meet the state's revised criteria for moving forward but it will be up to each county when and how quickly.
The new criteria include stable hospitalization rates and low rates of new positive cases. The rules no longer require that counties have no COVIS-19 deaths for 14 days.
Newsom says he expects to announce more revised statewide orders in coming weeks that will allow in-store retail shopping, barbers and salons to open, as well as services at churches and places of worship and professional sporting events without spectators.
