The California Department of Public Health has released guidelines for several more types of businesses that can reopen, with restrictions, as early as Friday, June 19th.
They include personal care, nail salons, massage parlors, along with tattoo and piercing shops. Business owners should follow the state guidelines and complete and submit the County’s Safe Reopening Plan.
The guidelines for more reopenings starting next Friday were released as county health officials released the daily San Diego County Coronavirus Update.
Testing:
Of 5,783 tests reported to the County yesterday, 3% were positive new cases. The 14-day rolling average percentage of positive tests, shown in the first attached chart, is 3%.
Cases: San Diego County resident total cases are now at 9,314, an increase from yesterday of 184. 1,501 or 16.1% of cases have required hospitalization. 425 or 4.6% of all cases and 28.3% of hospitalized cases had to be admitted to an intensive care unit.
Deaths: Six additional local deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported today. The countywide totalis 319. The people who died were five females and one man who ranged in age from mid-60s to early 90s. All had underlying health conditions.
COVID-19 Testing in San Diego County
The County has launched a new website that will make it easier for you to get a COVID-19 test. More information is on the San Diego County COVID-19 website.
The test sites listed on the page prioritize San Diegans who do not have health insurance or cannot access a test site offered by their health care provider. Insurance carriers must cover COVID-19 tests at no cost to their members, even if the person seeking the test is not showing symptoms.
