It’s Cyber Monday, the Monday after the Thanksgiving weekend, which is the traditional start of the holiday shopping season, proclaimed each year as the busiest on line shopping day of the year.
But like so much this year, every day has been a Cyber Monday for many months now with so many Americans, who have been under stay at home orders, buying a lot more on line during this pandemic year we’re in.
And with the virus already lurking out there and now spreading, this Cyber Monday is expected to be an unprecedented one when it comes to the amount of on line shopping going. But while on line shoppers don’t have to worry about exposing themselves to the virus, a new survey says a lot of them worry about something else, porch piracy.
It found that nearly two-thirds of Americans worry that the packages they send to their loved ones will be stolen off their porch this holiday season.
The survey found that 64 percent are concerned their presents will never reach their family or friends. In fact, nearly half say they’ve been porch pirate victims in the past…with 75 percent of those in the survey saying porch pirates are the worst part about the holidays.
There are a lot of suggestions on ways to reduce your chances of being an on line shopper victimized by a porch pirate. And of course you can find them on line.
But it is sad that even during a pandemic when we are all supposed to be in this together, and during the holidays, there are thieves out there who are the evil Grinches of 2020.
