Maybe all the rattling overnight got you up early and maybe some of the Christmas decorations you put up on your house just days ago were blown down this morning.
Strong Santa Ana winds don’t happen a lot in December, but they do happen.And here in 2020, we should not be surprised by anything unusual this year.
On its latest cover, Time Magazine slapped a red ‘X’ across the numerals 2020 with the words ‘Worst Year Ever’.
Many will argue this is not the worst year ever.History will make that judgment.
Time says it has used an “X” to cross out various things on its cover only four other times. The first time was 75 years ago, in 1945, to mark the death of Adolf Hitler….and that same year, a black “X” over Japan’s rising sun to mark the end of the war in the Pacific.
The second use of the “X” on a cover of Time was in 2003 when it crossed out Saddam Hussein. The third “X” happened in 2006, when U.S. forces killed one of the world’s worst terrorists Abu Mousab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaeda. And the most recent “X” by Time was in 2011, for the killing of Osama bin Laden.
While 2020 may not be the worst year ever, it is a year that none of us will forget. We will remember how we got through it together and sadly we will remember the loved ones lost to the pandemic. Something to think about as we all look toward better days ahead in the New Year of 2021.
