Feeling the Pain? Find Lowest Gas Prices in San Diego

As it goes up and up each day, how high will it go? “It” of course is the price of gas.

It’s been going up for weeks and weeks now with the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline now about one penny short of 4.55 cents. And the average price in California is even higher at 4.65 cents.

The experts say the price in California wasn’t helped by the so-called bomb cyclone rain, flooding and snow last week in the northern part of the state that led to disruptions at three Bay Area refineries.

The higher gas prices are referred to as ‘pain at the pump’ but it should be more accurately described as pain in your wallet or bank account. Paying upwards of 50 60, 70 dollars and even more every time you fill up your gas tank gets your attention.

And the price of gas is probably going to go higher still. You may remember nine years ago when the price set an all-time record high when it reached 4.73 cents a gallon in October of 2012.

While vaccines have helped slow the pandemic, it has led to more people going back to the office and schools re-opening since the summer, and a lot more people driving…meaning more traffic to deal with and raising the demand for gas and the cost of gas with oil prices higher.

So the outlook for gas prices coming down does not look good. For now, it remains a pain no matter how or where you feel the pain.
