President Calls for Unity But Why Can't We Get Along?

It doesn’t take long these days to know what people are arguing over and are angry about.

Just take a look at what is posted on social media. Any day will do but today is as good an example as any day. There are those arguing over President Biden’s State of the Union speech with those applauding it taking on those who are attacking it.

And there are those the many who are angry over the Russian invasion of Ukraine and arguing over what should be done to end it. And of course, two years after the coronavirus pandemic began, the goes on and on over what to do about it.

And then are those who are on Twitter and Facebook today arguing and angry over the start of the Major League Baseball season being called off because the owners, who make billions, and the players, many of whom make millions, cannot agree on a new contract, so baseball fans, who spend thousands to attend games, may not have many games to attend if there is no agreement.

So why is there so much arguing going on and why can’t we get along better? Is it because we are more stressed and on edge over everything that is going on? Is it because there is more “me” thinking out there than there is “we” thinking?

Maybe it’s time we all agree to try to agree on being less disagreeable.
