Two Teens Dead in Suspected DUI Crash at Torrey Pines State Beach

SAN DIEGO (KOGO) - Two teens are dead after a suspected DUI car crash at Torrey Pines State Beach.

San Diego police say a 19-year-old man was driving at a high rate of speed on North Torrey Pines Road around 11:00 p.m. Monday with four other teens in the car. The driver lost control, hit a center median, crashed through a guardrail and the car flipped several times before crashing onto the sandy beach below.

Two of the teens were not wearing seatbelts and were thrown out of the car and died at the scene. The three others, including the driver, were pulled from the car and taken to hospital. The driver had minor injuries while the other two survivors suffered serious injuries.

Authorities say drugs or alcohol could be a factor in the crash.
