Cruises Won't Be Happening in National City any Time Soon

NATIONAL CITY - The United Lowrider Coalition has cancelled the remaining cruising events in National City due to rising permit costs.

This after city leaders and the police department raised concerns about crowd control and safety after the May 6th cruise, the first of six scheduled under a temporary suspension of the city's cruising ban.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported the new permit costs, combined, could be upwards of $20,000 dollars. The coalition says its frustrated but is still planning on holding a car show in September and will continue to lobby the city council to overturn the cruising ban.
