SAN DIEGO - One person is dead and another person is rescued from the border wall.
Rescue crews from the cities of San Diego and Chula Vista responded to an area near Border Field State Park just after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday and found a woman stranded on a portion of the border wall which extends into the ocean. The woman was brought safely ashore but refused medical treatment.
A person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“About 200-300 feet north of the border fence, it was Imperial Beach lifeguards who found the victim washed up on the beach. CPR was initiated, but unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased,” City of San Diego official Jose Ysea said.
