DEL MAR - After two years of pandemic restrictions the San Diego County Fair is back in full-swing and today is opening day.
Fairgrounds Spokesperson Jennifer Hellman tells NBC 7 one of the changes this year is tickets and parking must be purchased online in advance and there will be a 50,000 ticket cap per day.
“What happens at the fair, our attendance tends to ramp up," said Hellman. "What we want to do is get people here early, get people here mid-week, so we don’t hit the big Fourth of July weekend where you can’t walk on the avenue.”
The fair will be offering lower priced tickets on Wednesdays and Thursdays to encourage more people to come out on those days, which typically have lower attendance. More than 100 food stands, 80 rides and hundreds of vendors and exhibits will be featured this year.
The San Diego County Fair runs through July 4th. Check out the fair's website for more details.
