In the latest installment, in a years-long saga, state hospital officials have proposed placing sexually violent predator, Douglas Badger, at a Borrego Springs home. This, after proposed placements near Mount Helix and in Rancho Bernardo fell through last year. The communities were able to successfully fight the placement.
The new proposal must first be approved by a judge. Under the agreement, the 79-year-old would live under strict supervision in a neighborhood toward the south end of the desert community.
A hearing on the proposal is set for Aug. 5 in San Diego Superior Court
