Inflation Reduction Act could Impact Californian's Health Care Costs

SACRAMENTO - The new Inflation Reduction Act could impact how much some California residents pay for health care and medicine.

Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra held a virtual briefing this week touting the cost savings for those on Medicare or Medicaid, including capping co-pays for insulin at $35 a month. California residents suffering from major diseases such as as cancer will see their out of pocket expenses capped at $2,000.

And there's also some relief from the high cost of health care plans.

The new law also covers cost sharing for some vaccines including the shingles shot.
