What Would Winning the Huge Lottery Jackpot Mean for You

A lot of people who don’t play the lottery, may be buying a ticket today. That’s what happens when the jackpot becomes a huge jackpot

And with tonight’s Powerball jackpot being the hugest ever, nearly 2-billion dollars, more people are willing to spend a couple of bucks despite the amazingly slim odds of them winning.

But as it’s been said, you have no chance of winning if you don’t buy a ticket. The odds are very tiny. About one in 292 million. But there’s always that thought in your head, yeah but what if I were to be the one who won it

So most everyone is probably being asked the question and probably asking it themselves; if I were to win the Powerball jackpot what would I do with all that money. But that’s a question that sometimes has a very costly answer.

While conventional wisdom is that winning a big lottery will change your life, research suggests that it’s not always going to change it in the way you might want it to.

Two economists and a statistician have found that some big lottery winners, about 10 years after they won, had spent a lot, lost some in poor investments and only saved 16 cents of every dollar won. One study found that one third of ALL lottery winners eventually go bankrupt.

It is true that money alone does not buy happiness. There are plenty of people around with lots of money who aren’t very happy. It’s the other things in our lives, like family, friends and faith that make that happen. And they can be priceless.
