Christmas Tree Prices Expected to be More Expensive this Year

EL CAJON - If you'll be getting a real Christmas tree this year, be prepared to pay a little more.

Tyler Stokes, owner of Family Christmas Tree Farm in El Cajon tells NBC 7 says prices have definitely gone up.

"Shipping it, the diesel cost, as well as the growers," said Stoke. "The expenses going into these trees went up dramatically."

But Stokes says the trees from his farm won't be affected by price increases, because he was able to reduce water costs.

According to a survey by The Real Christmas Tree Board prices nationwide have increased between five and 15 percent. Experts recommend getting your tree sooner rather than later to avoid any additional price hikes.
