POWAY - Residents are waiting, but a new Amazon Fresh grocery store in Poway hasn't opened yet.
The store has been ready to go since April, with paint and signs in place, even shopping cart corrals in the parking lot. San Diego State University professor Miro Copic told reporting partner 10 News it could be because Amazon has been having some issues with some of its divisions, including grocery.

"The worst thing to do is they open the store, big fanfare, then six months later they shut it down,” said Copic.
Poway residents say they're frustrated and that something else could be there instead.
Amazon has not offered any information about the future of the store.
