Group Releases Report on Acts of Violence Against Journalists in Mexico

TIJUANA - 2022 was a deadly year for journalists in Mexico.

That's according to a new report from the free speech organization Article 19, which says there were 696 crimes against media members South of the border last year. The crimes range from harassment to kidnapping and murder. The report says 12 journalists were killed in Mexico last year and about 40 percent of the incidents were carried out at the hands of security forces and other state agents.

The organization also blaming the rhetoric of Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador but he says his government is not attacking the press.
