An investigation continues into Saturday's crash of a private jet near Murrieta near the French Valley Airport killing all six people on board.
Killed in the crash were Riese Lenders, 25, of Rancho Palos Verdes; Manuel Vargas-Regalado, 32, of Temecula; Abigail Tellez-Vargas, 33, of Murrieta; Ibrahem Razick, 46, of Temecula; Alma Razick, 51, of Temecula; and Lindsey Gleiche, 31, of Huntington Beach, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
The plane had left Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas about an hour before the crash. Investigators say the plane came down about 500 feet short of the runway and poor visibility may have played a role.
The Cessna 550 Citation was registered to Prestige Worldwide Flights which issued this statement about the crash:
On approach to Temecula-French Airport Runway 36 at night, the crew encountered foggy conditions. Due to poor visibility, the crew initiated a go around then made a right hand turn and followed a circuit for a second attempt to land. On short final, at a speed of approximately 130 knots, the airplane impacted the ground and crashed short of runway, bursting into flames. The airplane was totally destroyed and all six occupants were killed.
