Otay Ranch Town Center was locked down Saturday evening after a person was shot near a brewery inside at the sprawling outdoor mall in Chula Vista.
Here is a statement from Chula Vista Police issued at 9 p.m. Saturday:
"NO ACTIVE SHOOTER - At 7:16 pm CVPD responded to reports of a shooting at the Novo Brazil-Otay Ranch Town Ctr. Officers found 3 victims with non-life threatening wounds. The suspect fled. Initial indications are that the shooting was not an active shooter and was not random.
Police and ambulances converged on the scene. Police say the initial investigation indicates the shooting was not random, but followed an altercation of some sort.
