The largest Christian university in the nation is facing the largest fine ever from the U. S. Department of Education, nearly 40-million dollars.
Grand Canyon University, based in Arizona, is accused of lying to more than 7,500 current and former students about the cost of its doctoral programs. The university strongly denies the allegations.
The fine comes as there is a broader push for accountability among universities by the Biden administration.
James T. Harris with our Newstalk station in Phoenix, KFYI, interviewed the president of Grand Canyon University Brian Mueller about whether the school being a Christian university plays a role in the issuing of this record fine.
