What More People Say They Are Doing More of This Christmas

The U.S Postal Service says the clock is ticking.

The last days for shipping packages as well as Christmas cards in time to arrive by Christmas Day are this week, the very latest deadline is Thursday, and you have to use one day Priority Mail to make sure it gets there in time.

And you might be surprised to hear that in today’s digital world of emailing, texting and messenging, a new poll says more people are sending Christmas cards in the mail this year, the real mail.

80 percent of those questioned in this survey who celebrate Christmas said they were planning to send paper Christmas cards this year, even some who said they’ve never done it before.

The vast majority of people in the poll said that real life Christmas cards are more sentimental than digital ones.

This same survey of 2,000 adults also found other Christmas traditions may even be more popular this year.

At the top of the list is putting up the Christmas tree, with 40-percent saying that. Going down the list of favorite traditions are eating with all the family on Christmas day, watching festive movies, sending out Christmas cards and playing family games.

And for many, going to church services is still an important part of the Christmas celebration.

Maybe this is all a sign that what’s going on in the world has led to a desire for more of Christmas here in 2023.
