How to Get That Holiday Spirit

The Christmas rush has been happening now since early last month. That’s because with fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. a lot of shoppers started earlier.

And now with Christmas Day just six days away, the rush is on. A lot of retailers say more people are shopping in stores this year and filling up the malls more than recent years when the pandemic and an increase in online shopping kept shoppers away from brick and mortar stores.

With less time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, there are also is a time crunch to get the time for all the holiday activities around San Diego, from the Christmas concerts and music programs, to the movies and theater productions to the boat parades and light parades, to the la Posada in Old Town and the get togethers with family or friends and the cookie baking and the tamale making.

In fact the holiday rush, especially this year, can become too much of a rush at times at a time when you can miss out on some of that Christmas spirit.

When we’re feeling rushed, it’s harder to capture the feeling. So as you are doing all the running around to get things done and go the places you want to go, maybe slowing down would turn that holiday rush into an appreciation of the holiday season.
