We don’t have to worry too much in San Diego about bad weather during the holidays through December and early January like they do in other parts of the country.
We can get some rain in December and with a colder storm, even some snow in the mountains at times.
But overall, not a lot of weather excitement this time of year, here
There are times though when we do have some out of the normal holiday weather…like this week.
We have seen king tides and high surf this week thanks to a Super Moon’s gravity pull with chances of coastal flooding and some cautious words about the danger from the waves.
And while Santa Ana winds can kick up in early December at times, we’ve had some 35-45 mile per hour gusts now this week that had social media apps lit up Wednesday night for example with neighbors telling neighbors about stories of blown down outdoor holiday decorations.
Winter doesn’t officially start until later this month and, while folks back East and in the Midwest, who are already dealing with snow storms and freezing cold, with more sure to come, we never have to worry about that.
We can deal with the waves and some winds as we head toward winter in San Diego.
