What to Do About the Holiday Rush

It’s crunch time. Just a couple of days and then just a few hours before Christmas.

Even though the holiday shopping season seems to start earlier and earlier each year with the rush that goes along with it, in the final days, the last-minute rush searching for gifts, and discovering messages that say “out of stock”, on line and in stores, can bring anxious moments.

So, the rush is really on now. A lot of retailers say more people are shopping in stores this year and filling up the malls more than recent years when the pandemic and an increase in online shopping kept shoppers away from brick-and-mortar stores.

A lot of stores of course, sensing the last minute panickers, are offering last minute sales on Christmas decorations and gifts, even with a lot picked over at times. The holiday shopping season after all, is big business, with lots of retailers depending on the holidays to keep them out of the red for the year.

But with the hustle and bustle going on, it can be easy to actually and physically and emotionally not enjoy the holidays as much as you want to. When we’re feeling rushed, it’s harder to capture the feeling we want to feel.

And no matter what you do and who you are, we can all use that Christmas spirit of peace.
