Loan For TSA Workers?

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is considering an emergency loan program to pay TSA workers during federal shutdowns.

The funding would come from within, from the airport authority's roughly 600-million-dollar reserve fund. If approved, it would allow eligible workers access to short-term no-interest loans to cover basic expenses like rent, food and utilities.

The loans would be repaid once the federal government resumes operations and back pay is received.  The Airport Authority Board is set to review the proposal at its next meeting.
