Construction on 60 sleeping cabins for the homeless will break ground in Lemon Grove today.
The property was purchased last month from Caltrans for just under one million dollars.
The county is overseeing design and construction which is expected to be completed by the summer of 2027. Once constructed, the sleeping cabin program will provide a home, meals and case management services.
The site will also feature restrooms, laundry, internet and around the clock security.
