County Supervisor Paloma Aguirre says the air purifier program has new funding and is now taking applications.
She says South Bay residents affected by Tijuana River sewage can apply for the San Diego Air Improvement Relief Effort program online.
Launched in 2025, the program has supplied over 14-thousand air purifiers to residents.
The renewed funding comes after the Board of Supervisors approved four-million-dollars from the county’s budget which will fund up to 17-thousand additional air purifiers.
