Free Meals for Medical Personnel Today at Head Lettuce & Spitfire Tacos.

On March 25th Scott and Thai Slater began the San Diego Ready Meals Fund to raise money and show gratitude to frontline medical staff and assisted living center professionals for their hard work in treating and preventing the spread of COVID-19. Their two restaurants Spitfire and Head Lettuce, along with their GoFundMe page and other private donors raised $60,000, plus the restaurant group matched every contribution dollar for dollar, ultimately raising $120,000 worth of meals to be served to San Diego medical personnel.

In a press release the Slaters shared that they understand the stress, sacrifice and hard work our medical professionals are enduring throughout the pandemic and wanted to do their part for the community. For this purpose they decided to kick off National Nurses Week doing just that. On Wednesday May 6th, the first day of Nurses Week, Scott and Thai Slater are closing both Head Lettuce and Spitfire to the public to feed any and all of our frontline heroes.

From 11am to 8pm on Wednesday May 6th, ALL hospital workers including doctors, nurses, administrative staff, maintenance staff, etc. if you work at a hospital or medical facility, you will get a free meal. Simply show your badge at checkout.

"This is a small token of our gratitude for the hard work and sacrifice every person in the medical field to make our community healthy and safe," said Scott Slater.

Head Lettuce and Spitfire Tacos are located at 4150 Regents Park Row #175, San Diego.
