California's Stay Home Order is now in effect throughout San Diego and southern California. For at least the next three weeks (starting December 7, 2020), this is what you CAN and CAN'T do.
Here is what you CAN still do:
- Visit retail stores and shopping centers - they will be operating at 20% capacity
- Grocery stores are allowed to operate at 35% capacity.
- Workout at gyms and fitness centers - but services will only be offered outdoors
- Attend services at places of worship - the services will be held outdoor only
- Visit parks AND playgrounds - state officials agreed to keep playgrounds open on 12/9
- Attend non-urgent medical and dental appointments
- Take children to day care and pre-K facilities
- Order and pick-up food from restaurants
- Take your kids to public schools that are already in operation (however, some schools districts are considering distance learning only through year's end).
Here is what is closed - so you CAN'T visit or participate in activities at:
- Hair salons and barbershops
- Personal care services
- Playgrounds
- On-site dining (even outdoors) at restaurants, breweries and wineries
- Indoor recreational facilities
- Libraries (indoors)
- Museums, zoos aquarium
- Movie theaters, family entertainment centers and casinos
NOTE: Hotels are open, but only to support critical infrastructure, not “travel or stays that are considered tourism or recreational in nature.”
The current Stay Home Order is in effect throughout the Southern California region until at least December 27, 2020. At that time, the Order could be lifted if the region's intensive care until (ICU) capacity reaches or exceeds 15%. The state will assess each regions figures weekly, following the initial three week order.
