A retirement-age married couple were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their San Carlos-area home today, authorities reported.
Officers conducting a welfare check at the house in the 6600 block of Bell Bluff Avenue discovered the bodies of the 68-year-old man and 69-year-old woman shortly before 10:30 a.m., according to San Diego police.
Both appeared to have died from gunshot wounds, and their deaths were being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, Lt. Mike Holden said. The woman had been her husband's caretaker, the lieutenant said.
Their names were withheld pending family notification.
