A new survey from the National Retail Federation says U.S. consumers will spend a total of $18 billion dollars on their Valentine this year. More than $4 billion of that will be spent on jewelry alone, with another $2 billion on flowers. The average consumer is expected to spend an average of $136 dollars.And 20-percent of consumers say they are planning to give their valentines something for their pets.
