Police are looking for a driver who hit and killed a 16-year-old boy in Tierrasanta then fled the scene Thursday night.
San Diego Police said the collision happened shortly after 11:50p.m. in the 5700 block of Santo Rd. According to police, two teen boys were walking southbound near the median on Santo Rd. when a black 4-door car traveling at a high rate of speed hit one of them.
The other teen safely made it the to the median and was not hurt. The other boy was declared dead at the scene. Police said the car did not stop and continued on Santo Rd.
Several people witnessed the collision and tried to help, including a motorcyclist whose GoPro camera may have captured the crash. A detailed description of the suspected hit-and-run vehicle was not immediately available.
