Thief Uses Girl Scout Money To Buy Heroin

The man accused of stealing over $400 from a Girl Scout selling cookies pleaded not guilty in court.  28-year-old Erik Mullen is accused of snatching the cash box outside of a Clairemont grocery store over the weekend.

Deputy District Attorney Kimball Denton says that it wasn't the only theft Mullen was a part of that day.  He, and an accomplice identified as Brandi Wright, stole a woman's purse earlier in the day.  Mullen dropped his cell phone after stealing from the Girl Scout, which led police to him.

Both he and Wright are in jail on $20,000 bail, and face up to three and a half years in prison if convicted.
