What's Sweet About Some of the Things You Eat

It seems there’s a new report every day on what’s healthy to eat or drink and what’s not healthy to eat or drink.

Last week there was the story about diet soft drinks may be bad for your brain and could be a cause for Alzheimer’s.  Not what you want to hear when you have banned sugary soft drink s from your diet and have switched to diet soft drinks.

And there are the reports we see all the time about coffee being good for you and some that will say coffee is not good for you. And on and on it goes.

The latest report has to do with new research that shows cinnamon can help reduce blood sugar levels and may also be good for anti-aging and anti-oxidant purposes.

While this new research is still being studied a nutritionist from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, recommends adding cinnamon to oatmeal, toast, butternut squash, chili, and more.

Now that doesn’t mean we should run out and have a cinnamon roll for breakfast every day.

But the nutritionist says cinnamon, in moderation and in daily foods, is generally a good habit,” she says.

And that’s probably the best advice you hear from medical and health experts.

While there are some things that are definitely things to avoid, there are others that are good for you.

But it’s like the old saying says; there can be too much of a good thing, even if it as tasty as cinnamon.
