It was a good weekend to stay indoors, as rain and cooler temperatures crossed the county. Meteorologist Greg Martin tells KOGO News that some areas set records.
Alpine, Ramona, Vista, El Cajon and Borrego saw the lowest high temperatures ever in the month of May. At Lindburgh Field, it was the coldest May high temperature since 1933. About an inch of rain fell at the coast, up to 1.5" in the valley, up to 2" in the mountains and higher mountain elevations even got some snow, with 4" at Mount Laguna and 6" at Palomar Mountain.
Martin says Tuesday brings another change of light rain, but things will dry out as the week goes on. Temperatures will be warmer, and closer to average by the end of the week.
The steady rain forced the postponement of the game between the Padres and Dodgers at Petco Park. The game was re-scheduled for September.
