POLL: San Diego Family's Case for Immigration Reform

Everyone is probably asking the same question about the case involving the Lake family of San Ysidro, Benjamin. Ingrid and their little son Lennox.

The family’s story has been in the news all week.  And the man accused of being the drunk, hit and run, illegal immigrant driver who plowed into the family’s car as they were coming home from a trip to Disneyland has been in court.

And six year old Lennox has been and still is….at Rady Children’s Hospital with a skull fracture and serious head injuries.

And we have learned that the guy now formally charged with shattering this family’s life is a guy from Mexico who’s illegally here and has been deported 15 times and has a criminal record of domestic violence for things he has done while he has been here.

And the question everyone is asking is how does this happen and the larger question of what should be done to make sure it doesn’t happen.

Lennox’s dad Benjamin has said he now has a different view about enforcing illegal immigration laws and about sanctuary cities and the border wall.  He says the system is broken and that what happened to his family could have been prevented.

And everyone probably agrees. But not everyone agrees on what to do about it.

But until we agree to do something about it, and do it, it will probably and sadly happen again.
