The California Attorney General is warning you about an increase in scammers posing as computer tech support. You may get a call from someone asking for money or private information on line or over the phone.
It may start as someone calling saying a virus or malware has been found on your computer, and it needs to be eliminated. Or, they may say if you don't buy a particular software, your computer will be harmed, and they want remote access to your computer. Or they may ask you to search for particular files on your system, which don't cause any harm. But they'll tell you you need to get rid of the files by tricking you into believing you need to buy useless software to delete them.
There are other scams to beware of. The state has guidelines and tips on the scammers, which you can find HERE.
