All Clear After Note Prompts Lock Down at Rancho Bernardo High

Two students are in custody and two others being questioned after a lock down at Rancho Bernardo High School.

The school was placed on lock down for a period of time Thursday afternoon while authorities checked out the campus following the discovery of a note in a restroom warning of a shooting that would take place today.

Shortly after noon, school officials called authorities and ordered students at the school, located at 13010 Paseo Lucido to remain in their classrooms while San Diego police officers checked out the campus.

No weapons were found and the lock down lifted about an hour later, according to San Diego police officials.

The investigation so far has found that a photo was posted on social media yesterday that showed pellet, Airsoft pistols with a message referencing something happening today on campus. One student involved with that post has been taken into custody.

Separately this afternoon, a note was located in a restroom with a threat.  It has not been determined whether the two incidents are related according to San Diego Police Captain Stephanie Rose.

Following the discovery of the note, word spread around campus about yesterday's social post. One teenage boy who sent a threatening message to a fellow student related to today's incident, was taken into custody.

Students at adjacent Bernardo Heights Middle School were also kept secured in their classrooms as a precaution.
