An Uber driver and passengers escaped injury after the vehicle they were in fell into a large sinkhole near Lakeside Tuesday morning. It happened around 5:00a.m. at Pecan Park and Olde Highway 80 near Lake Jennings.
Police say the sinkhole was the result of a water main break in the area, and the water authority has been able to shut off the water.
The car began to sink and then rolled onto its side. Everyone was able to escape, and a tow truck pulled the car out of the sinkhole. Pecan Park Lane at Olde Hwy 80 has been closed indefinitely.
