The beach is the ideal place to get some relief from the heat, but the county is reminding everyone there's another way to cool down. The county has released its list of 100 designated cool zones for people to beat the summer heat.
Supervisor Dianne Jacob created the cool zone idea out of concern for seniors and the disabled who are more prone to heat related health issues. The list includes libraries, senior centers, museums and rec centers.
Aside from keeping people cool, the cool zones also lower individual usage and help conserve energy. You can find your nearest cool zone here.
