The Red Flag fire weather warning was posted till 1 a.m. Wednesday as firefighters remained on alert.
A brush fire broke out shortly after 9:30 Tuesday in the Dehesa area. The fire burned an estimated 20 acres along Dehesa Road near Sloan Canyon Road. Firefighters on the ground and helicopters helped stop the advance of the flames before they could directly threaten any buildings. The nearby Sycuan Casino and Resort were not threatened and there was no damage reported from the fire.
While the Dehesa area is not inside the Red Flag Warning area, temperatures at the time of the fire were in the 90's. There were no reports of injuries.
