Road Rage Leads to a Fiery Crash in Lakeside

Multiple people are facing charges after a road rage incident led to a fiery crash in Lakeside.  Deputies say the initial incident happened Saturday night when two vehicles were involved in road rage along the 67. One of the vehicles ended up getting off the highway and crashed into the Solis Hair Studio, when it tried to speed around the other car.  That crash triggered a fire that caused significant damage to the salon.

Deputies responding to the crash ended up chasing a car into El Cajon before arresting several people inside the vehicle, including 35-year old Ruben Chavez on drugs and weapons charges, as well as 27-year old Erik Talavera. Deputies had to use a stun gun on Talavera when he tried to barricade himself inside a nearby pharmacy and started stabbing himself.  He faces several charges once he's released from the hospital.
