Suspect Arrested After Search Prompts Lockdown at 3 San Diego Schools

A suspect was taken into custody after a chase that led authorities to lock down three schools in the Webster area of San Diego Tuesday afternoon.

The incident started earlier on Highway 94 when a San Diego County Sheriff deputy from the Lemon Grove substation tried to pull over the suspect. Authorities say the suspect refused and led the officers on a chase, eventually pulling over near Euclid where he got out of the car and ran off on foot.

As authorities searched the neighborhood for the suspect, Gompers Prep Academy, Horton Elementary and Millennial Tech Middle School were placed on lock down as a precaution.

The suspect was located in the restroom of Gompers Park and taken into custody without incident.
