We "spring forward" this Sunday morning at 2am but, several states are looking at opting out of the time change. Should California join them?
Massachusetts wants to join the Atlantic time zone permanently. Maine has passed bills stating they will do the same if Massachusetts and New Hampshire go along too. A bill was sent to Florida's Governor Rick Scott to keep the state on daylight saving time year round.
- Benjamin Franklin created the concept, which was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson in 1966 and amended in 2007 to take place on the second Sunday of March.
- Hawaii and Arizona do not observe at all.
