How California Ranks Against Other States in Sales Tax

So just who pays the highest sales taxes here in the U.S.?  Well, here's a snapshot of average sales taxes from coast to coast.

The figures were compiled by 24/7 Wall St., who reviewed sales tax rates from the Tax Foundation’s State and Local Sales Tax Rates report from 2017.  

If you live in Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire or Oregon you pay 0%. On the other side of the scale is Alabama (9.1%), Washington state (9.2%), Arkansas (9.4%), Tennessee (9.5%), and Louisiana (10.0%).

And where's California? 8.5%. That's high but at least we have great weather, right?
