Crews Working on Fast Moving Brush Fire Burning in Campo Area

Cal Fire crews are working to get a handle on a fast-moving fire in Campo that started Wednesday morning about 10am and quickly grew to 150 acres in a little more than two hours.

The fire, first reported in the 31000 block of State Route 94 is being called the "Recycle Fire" and as of 4pm stands at 250 acres with 5% containment.

One firefighter has reported suffered minor injuries. No other injuries or damage to structures have been reported.

La Posa Rd. between Highway 80 and Highway 94 has been closed according to Cal Fire Captain Issac Sanchez. Residents in that area and those living on North Campo Truck Trail have been issued an "Evacuation Warning" which means they should be ready to evacuate if necessary.

Six aircraft and four helicopters are currently working to put out the fire in addition to the crews on the ground.
