Reward Offered To Solve Cold Case Murder In San Diego

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects responsible for the murder of 34-year-old Jose “Hugo” Lopez.One thousand dollars for a suspect.

On June 24, 2017, at 11:57 p.m., San Diego Police Officers responded to a call of a shooting near the intersection of South 31st Street and Martin Avenue, in the Logan Heights Neighborhood of San Diego.

 Officers found Jose “Hugo” Lopez lying on the ground in the intersection and was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began life saving measures and Lopez was transported to UCSD Hospital. Despite the life saving measures, Lopez was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

Investigators determined that Lopez had been walking on South 31st Street near the intersection of Martin Avenue, when an unknown vehicle stopped at the intersection. An unknown passenger got out of the vehicle and started shooting at Lopez. 

Lopez was struck multiple times and collapsed in the street. The suspect got back into the vehicle, which was last seen driving away westbound in the 3000 block of Martin Avenue.

 Suspect’s Vehicle: Investigators believe the suspects were in a dark colored 2 door sedan with tinted windows.
