Evacuations have been lifted for Alpine residents, and as some return home they're finding almost nothing. 56 homes and structures have been destroyed by the 505-acre West Fire. Several agencies are helping families who lost everything.
Anyone whose home is destroyed can go to the evacuation center at Los Coches Creek Middle School. In addition, the Alpine Library will be open from 9am-6pm with dozens of organizations offering assistance. A help hotline is available by calling 858-495-5200.
